If you want an old Server Client architecture mainframe , instead of a Client Server architecture windows Os and still using Windows programming, have then a look at Citrix. Can you provide a detailed description of exactly what and how you're trying to do it? Overall am attempting to improve usability and make it easy for user to send a file between host and PC you are remoting into. I don't feel like reading through everything to see if this has been mentioned. The escape fix worked for me with Win 7. The only thing I have that is unique from coworkers is a wireless keyboard and mouse. I expect that has something to do with my issue. I have Windows 7 on a HP Notebook. I know this thread is old, but it is possible to do this. It requires first that users have a mapped drive that is accessible from both their desktop and the RDS servers.

Next, publish explorer. Change parameters to use this only and set the path of the mapped drive and any subfolder within that you'd like to have them drag and drop from. We had to do this for a customer who uses attachments in Quickbooks.
